Buying Property in Spain
The dream of moving to Spain with its pleasant all-year round climate, relative proximity and fascinating culture has already become reality for an estimated 2.6 million permanent foreign residents. However, despite the size of this expatriate community - a large proportion of which being British or Irish - a week hardly seems to go by without hearing about some catastrophic move, purchase or experience with Spanish bureaucracy.
We have attempted to address the most common fears and issues experienced by those not only in respect to the "do's and don'ts" of buying a property but also to consider the very real ongoing tax issues.
In fact, perhaps far more than in most other countries, Spain generously rewards the prudent and careful expatriate but as this infers likewise the imprudent, impulsive and perhaps overly trusting can all too easily end up in a nightmare scenario.
We have produced a book that goes into far more detail than can be covered in this guide.
